Rahway Riverfest 2023 returns on Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1 from 1:00-7:00 PM at the Rahway River Watershed Association Learning Center at Lower Essex Street Park, located at 337 E. Milton Ave., Rahway, NJ. This year's theme is Love Your River. The event will feature a variety of family-friendly activities to provide two educational days of appreciation for the Rahway River and nature. Riverfest will offer live music, food trucks, canoe rides, face painting, balloon animals, a stilt walker, eco-craft workshops, exhibitors and presenters, live Birds of Prey Shows, yoga by the river, ecology walks, a beer tent, and Bio Blitz. In addition, the festival will also include multiple exhibits, vendors, food, and refreshments. Unique gifts, sustainable products, and artesian crafts will be available for sale.
The Rahway River Watershed Association believes that engaging people in activities that put them in contact with nature is the best way to instill a love for the environment. Their curriculum focuses on outdoor recreation, restoration of our ecosystem, biodiversity, ecology, and citizen science programs that are fun, as well as educational.
