Handicap Parking Space Application

    Please note the following:

    1. Residence must NOT have an existing driveway 

    2. Vehicle registration MUST match the address where the request is being made for handicap parking.

    3. If approved, space is NOT exclusive to the applicant. It may be used by any motorist with a handicapped hangtag or license plate. 

  2. Electronic Signature Agreement*

    By checking the "I agree" box below, you agree and acknowledge that 1) your application will not be signed in the sense of a traditional paper document, 2) by signing in this alternate manner, you authorize your electronic signature to be valid and binding upon you to the same force and effect as a handwritten signature, and 3) you may still be required to provide a traditional signature at a later date.

  4. The Complete Process
    1. The application is complete and received by the Clerk's Office.
    2. The application will be forwarded to the Traffic Bureau with the applicant's Councilmember CC'd to approve
    3. After the Councilmember approves, the Traffic Bureau will do an investigation regarding whether the property qualifies for a handicap parking spot.
    4. The Traffic Bureau will produce an ordinance which will go at the next City Council Meeting (To See Future Meetings Click Here)
    5. The ordinance would need to pass in two separate readings.
    6. An estoppel period of 20 days after the passage has to be waited
    7. The Traffic Bureau will put up a handicap sign.

    In all, the process can take 8 to 12 weeks from the time requested, depending on the factors above.
